DHS COMMUNITY OVERSIGHT BOARD
SUPPORTING PHILADELPHIA'S CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

On January 24, 2008, Mayor Michael Nutter reaffirmed the City’s commitment to the reform of the Philadelphia Department of Human Services’ child protection function by issuing Executive Order No. 04-08 re-establishing the DHS Community Oversight Board (Board).

Building on the work of the previous administration, the Board monitors the progress on the implementation of the recommended reforms of the Child Welfare Review Panel. Mayor Nutter’s re-establishment of the Board ensures that the City receives the benefit of diverse local and national perspectives and expertise related to child welfare and protection services.
